CarolAnn is an artist and educator specialising in hand embroidery based in Yorkshire.  She teaches hand  embroidery, English Paper piecing,  darning, patchwork/reverse appliqué, stitched shibori and eco printing.

She has a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Surface Pattern and Textiles.  
 

CarolAnn's own practice explores the importance of Slow textiles and traditional skills.  She was second artist for the Stitched Together project headed up by Dionne Swift in conjunction with Rural Arts, Thirsk and across three separate Army Bases for the Military wives/partners.

 

She ran a community project at Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley, Yorkshire for over 2 years called CommunityCloth@Sunnybank Mills bringing together ex mill workers and the local community to stitch/quilt.

She runs workshops in her home in Yorkshire, Sunny Bank Mills, Rural Arts - Thirsk and is available for talks and workshops.
